VeniSIA's History

Ca' Foscari University's
Spinoff

VeniSIA, the Venice-based Deep Tech Venture Studio, was founded in 2020 at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice by Professor Carlo Bagnoli and Maria Claudia Pignata to combat Venice’s decline, exacerbated by the 2019 Aqua Granda flooding and COVID-19. In 2024, it became a university spin-off.
